Scooce Me! ~ Jakob T. Fausett, age 3 1/2

My little man has good manners.

Don't ask me where or how, but this kid is a little gentleman! Here are some examples:

Hanging on our coat closet door is Jakey's basketball hoop, which he happened to be playing with when I went to get my coat.  I didn't think or notice before hand, but Jakey was about to make a shot just as I was opening the door, and instead of getting upset he runs over and says, "Uh oh! Oh SCOOCE (excuse) me!"

I was cutting Darin's hair and Jakob's ball rolled over my foot. "Scooce me, mommy!"

I asked for a kiss each time he got a bite of my applesauce, and after each smooch he'd sing, "Oh, gay-coo (Thank you)!"  Then Darin started getting a little jealous of all Jakey's smooches, so he came over and stole one in-between each of Jakey's, and after each kiss he'd happily exclaim, "Good job, mommy! Gi me five!"

As a general rule, whenever I say "thank you", Jake will follow it up with, "Yo welcome!"

Another funny little bit of facts about my Jakey:

He's been mixing Darin and I up, calling me "Daddy" and Darin, "Mommy".  Then when he realizes his error, he corrects himself.  So my usual title is "Daddy... mommy?" And Darin's usual title is "Mommy... Daddy!"

When Jake gets hurt, he usually tries to hide it or hold it in.  Then when I ask if he's okay, he'll always reply, "Yeah" while tears are rolling down his cheeks.

As far as MICHAEL goes... well, he's growing! AND!.. get this... he actually slept through the night the other night. Awwwwesome.

Oh...how cute, little Jakob! I can just hear his little voice as I read this post! I miss him. I miss you and Darin. I miss Michael. What's new, huh.
