I love this time of year, so many excuses to get together with family and friends! Our Halloween fun started really got a good kick off this last week when Sarah and I decided to attempt making cookies with our kids. And I'm not kidding when I say it took us all day long to do it! None of the stores had any Halloween cookie cutters so we just used the regular star, circle, and square cutters to come up with our own.
Kaylee was so cute! She loved helping roll the dough and cut shapes... but she really loved sneaking little delicious snacks from time to time!
It wasn't long before Jake was feeling hunger pangs, so Sarah and Darin went to town with their creativity!
Unfortunately I was born without artistic creativity. Haha! Evident by my attempt at decorating this spider (I decided to turn it into a monster instead). We all had a good laugh!
Darin's artistic abilities and patient tendencies produced these (the Garfield and icecream cone)! Yep... I'm with him! :) Seriously, my mouth is constantly hanging open... gaping at his surprising little talents left and right!
Our selection of cookies included: frankensteins, ghosts, witches, tomb stones, moons, cats, spiders, and haunted houses! We were pretty tired by the time we finished (Sarah still looks ready for another round, but I was frazzled!).
Halloween night we played door guardian in our Winnie the Pooh gear at Darin's parents' house. If you can't tell, Darin is Eeyore, I'm Pooh, and little Jake is Piglet! I felt certain if Jake had words he'd wring me a good one for dressing him in pink, but dang he was cute!
My cute little piggy!
