New Attitude

I learned something valuable this week. It's something everyone has heard before, but, I remembered it again, and maybe if you're like me, you might need to remember it too. The "it" I'm referring to would be this little piece of wisdom: BE GRATEFUL.

If you really took the time for the next few minutes and thought of all the things within your sight you're grateful for, you'd realize just like I did that we are spoiled rotten people! Heavenly Father has blessed us with so much and sometimes it's easy to just get caught up in the trivial stuff and forget. So this week, which just so happens to be the most wonderful AND STRESSFUL one of the year, I'm going to try something. Every time I start getting stressed out or up tight or "not in the mood" I'm going to go through my lists of blessings silently, in my mind, and continue doing so until I'm feeling the proper amount of gratitude and happiness again.

Now, for my own personal opinion:

I think I have the solution to all the problems that exist out there! Ah, now I have your attention don't I.

So here it is: If we could all be in a constant attitude of gratitude to Heavenly Father, we would always be at peace. We would always know that He takes care of us, thus we would never have need for stress or feel hopeless when in pain. I know every person who has ever entered my life was there in the perfect way and in the perfect moment for me to have the experiences the Lord wanted me to have. And in that there is purpose to my happiness as well as my heartaches... I believe this whole heartedly and I'm thankful to have constant proof of His love and great mercy in my life. And, indeed, I am very blessed.

Now if I can just always remember it. If I can, well, then it doesn't really matter what happens. I can be steady despite the storm because there will always, ALWAYS be something to be thankful for...

... and for that... I am very thankful.
