Jakob

Jakob does the most adorable things. Here are a few of his new favorite things to do:
Play card games with me: He pounds the ground like we're betting in a game of trump and says "I won!"
Count to ten: "One, Two, Figh, Nigh, Teh!!"
Point out colors:  "Bwoo, gween, whigh."
Do the secret handshake: High five, knucks, thumbs (touch thumbs four times), and bump elbows... "EeBOW!"

And my favorite is just when he exclaims things like, "Ahwhite (alright)!" and, "Nice."

Jake is so playful and fun. He keeps scraping up his knees playing and that sorta makes me crazy! He can recite the alphabet really well and likes to point out letters and name them. I can tell he likes learning cause we could sit in a book or on the doodle pad doing letters or numbers or objects and he doesn't get restless. He's a very obedient boy, which I'm grateful for.  For example, if I ask him to look at me, no matter how upset he is, he always looks at me with those big puppy eyes. If I ask him to lay down for his diaper change, or stand up during a tantrum, or go get a diaper, he just does it! I love it.

I have some awesome news too!!! I weaned him from his binky! A few nights ago, while we were doing our night time routine, I told him I was going to sing him one more song, and say prayers with him, and then lay him down in bed and I was NOT going to give him his binky. I told him this a couple times and he sorta whimpered each time I mentioned the binky.  Then I did what I told him I'd do and laid him down.  He cried that first night for a few minutes so I went in and hugged him and asked him if it was because of the binky, to which he replied his usual "Oh!" which means yes.

I told him I wasn't going to give him a binky but that I loved him and would be here in the morning. And after that, he just went to bed! And I haven't given him a binky since.  AMAZING! I thought it was going to be long nights of no sleep.
